I’m participating in a new photography project. Something that lets you see artistic interpretation from two different photographers… on two opposite ends of the continent. This project involves many talented woman photographers and I’m teaming up with the fabulous Susan Nawyn of Suna Photography. Susan is based out of south Florida, so her world is definitely a bit different compared to northern Canada 🙂
Susan and I will be photographing a subject based on a monthly theme. Then, we will share our images in a diptych for you to see. Our interpretations might be vastly different or maybe even the same. It’s going to be so much fun to see where our creativity takes us in the next year! I’m also looking forward to getting to know Susan too!
This month’s theme is Black and White. I love black and white photography. Absolutely love it. When I was thinking of things to shoot, I kept thinking about the winter that surrounds me. Although it has been warm and things are starting to melt, my outside world is covered in a blanket of white. Other colours are are almost non-existant. But, if you look hard enough, you will see signs of growth… or growth that was. My photograph this week is of flowers…. dried and lacking their beautiful red colour from the summer. In black and white, you can look beyond non-existant blooms and see something beautiful.

I love this. Its so peaceful. its perfect as a square crop too. I can imagine it in a whole series printed large with white mats and black museum frames, lining a hallway. very very nice.
