The Right Time for Family Photos

You might have thought about, mulled over, and thrown around the idea of having a family photo session. You might have also thought… now is not the right time. You might have walked away from the idea of a photo session because the thought of figuring out the right outfits was overwhelming or maybe you just didn’t feel you were ready. Let me share something with you — it’s always the right time. Who you are right now is someone who your family loves more than anything on this planet and when they look back at those photos twenty, thirty, forty, or fifty years from now — or when your grandchildren and their children look back on those photos in years from now — that will see beauty. They will see the magic of you. Who you are. What part you played in their family history. Your story. They will see YOU.

This session was filled with that beauty, that magic. These photos are a symbol of twenty years of marriage. They are a symbol of a child leaving the nest to begin a new chapter in their lives at university. They are a symbol of the bond between siblings. They are a symbol of love.

I was absolutely honoured to capture this beautiful family and it was an amazing feeling to witness the deep, special connections between each family member. Children grown up so incredibly fast and this session gave me a glimpse into my own children growing up. I hope the ties they share are as tight as the ones that I was able to take in while I captured this family’s story.
