Fifty-Two on Friday | Valleyview Alberta Photographer

Happy Friday and Happy Canada Day to all the Canadians out there!!!

It’s week 25 of our fifty-two on Friday project.  I tweaked our theme a little bit this week to celebrate Canada Day.  In just a few days, my American friends will be celebrating Independence Day.  When you go through our circle this week, you will see photos celebrating red white, and blue to commemorate their holiday.  Since today is Canada Day, I decided to photograph something red and white to celebrate our special holiday that’s happening here 🙂

Canada Day celebrates Canada’s birthday as a country.  On this day in 1867, three British Colonies came together to form Canada.  In time, more provinces and territories joined the country.

Across our country today, people will be gathering together to celebrate Canada’s 144th birthday.  There will be parades, barbecues, and all sorts of other fun activities happening in towns and cities across this beautiful nation.

I have lived on both sides of this country and have visited almost every province and territory.  I have dipped my toes in both oceans, hiked through mountain passes, and wandered through open prairie.  There is no place I would rather live than right here in Canada.

When driving back from a fishing trip a couple of weekends ago, we drove past this grainery and as we were driving by, I knew I wanted to come back here to photograph it for our theme this week.

An ode to this beautiful country right in the midst of an open field in Alberta.  Happy Birthday Canada.

Next travel with me south of the border to visit the talented Illinois Photographer, Christine Blaylock and see her interpretation of this week’s theme.  And, a big, happy 4th of July to all my American friends 🙂  I hope everyone has a great weekend celebrating with family and friends!
