When you think of adventure and your own wanderlust, where do you like to go? Where does your soul brighten, awaken, and feel fulfilled? Maybe its a sandy beach, a bustling historical city, the countryside, or the depths of nature. For me, it seems to be mountains, forest, or water (especially the ocean), or a magical combination of all three. The smell of fir and pine trees, the amazing vistas of towering mountain peaks, and the peacefulness of water — all pieces of my happy place.
When I wasn’t capturing emotion, connection, and the stories of people and families, I spent this summer seeking any snippet of adventure that I could find. Memories were made on the west coast and all the beautiful places in between. This little beauty was gracing the shore of Two Jack Lake in Banff National Park and feels like the perfect addition to my “Wanderlust” series.
Asters. My favourite flower… and they seem to follow me wherever I go. I’ve been photographing them for years — in all seasons — even the spent blooms in the depths of winter. For me, they are the most special of all the wildflowers.
